Applications Now Being Accepted For Irondale Citizens Police Academy

New Irondale Police Chief, Ken Atkinson has made a tremendous impact since taking over as the city’s top law enforcement official a little over a year ago. One of his major priorities is to implement programs to strengthen the relationship between the Irondale police department and the Irondale community.

Last year Chief Atkinson implemented a newly revised Irondale Police Department – Citizens Police Academy (CPA). CPA is an interactive academy for Irondale citizens who want to learn more about law enforcement. Police officers provide classroom instruction and hands-on demonstrations.

Class topics and activities include:

The Irondale Police Department is now accepting applications for the upcoming Irondale Police Department – Citizens Police Academy. This (7) week academy will run from September 15 – October 27, 2016. Classes will be held every Thursday from 6PM to 8PM at the Irondale Police Sub Station located at 5415 Beacon Drive, Suite 123.
