Accessible Reading

Did you know that the library has special services for people who are unable to visit the library due to a temporary or permanent disability, as well as for people with low vision, blindness, or a physical, perceptual, or reading disability?

Staff from Books by Mail (provided through the Birmingham Public Library and the Public Libraries in Jefferson County) will share how homebound Jefferson County residents can receive free library books through the mail. They will also explain how Alabama residents can receive audio players and braille books and magazines for free through the Regional Library for the Blind and Physically Disabled.
