When Will the New Library Be Open?!

What Should I Do with the Items I Have Checked Out?
The book and media returns at our previous and new location will be open throughout our move. They may be emptied less frequently, so don’t worry if an item remains on your account for a few days. When the items are checked in, they will be backdated so that your items will not be considered overdue if they were put in the returns on time.
You may also return your items to any other public library in Jefferson County. Find a location convenient to you here.
For your convenience, no items belonging to IPL will be due while we are closed. However, items belonging to other libraries (even if you checked them out at IPL) will not have extended due dates.
Can I Still Pick Up My Holds?
While we are closed, any holds you have requested to pick up at Irondale will be sent to the O’Neal Library in Mountain Brook (50 Oak St, Mountain Brook, AL 35213). If you prefer to pick your items up at a different library, contact us at librarian@irondalelibrary.org, or talk with a staff member at any JCLC library.
Items that were still available pick up at IPL when we close will be sent to the O’Neal Library.
What About Online Resources?
Even when our doors are shut, our digital collection is always available! Visit irondalelibrary.org/digital-collection for tutoring, résumé help, eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, movies and TV, music, language learning, craft tutorials, and more!
