Team Magic is a Birmingham- and Nashville-based race management company specializing in multi-event races that was started thirty years ago by Irondale-native, Therese Bynum. We are delighted to have Team Magic as an active Chamber member, and Therese as a contributor to our community.This partnership with Team-Magic and the City of Irondale and the Irondale Commercial Development Authority made possible the very first, annual Whistle Stop Half Marathon, 5K, and 1.5 Mile Fun Run to Irondale last weekend. The race brought over 200 athletes to our city, beginning their races at Grants Mill Station and ending at a finish line near the red caboose on First Avenue. Grants Mill Animal Hospital helped sponsor the pet-friendly Fun Run/Walk, and proceeds from that race benefited Hand in Paw, a Birmingham-based charity dedicated to animal-assisted therapy.
We are excited about the prospect of this new tradition that will bring new visitors to the City of Irondale and help grow the Whistle Stop Festival even bigger.
