Irondale, AL – Five children and their babysitter were preparing to make popcorn and watch a movie in bed Tuesday night when a 60-foot Oak tree toppled, literally splitting a one-story Irondale brick home in half.
Normally, said homeowner Ashley Hunt Logan, the kids would have been watching TV on the couch, or all sitting around the coffee table where she has small chairs lined up. There’s only one explanation, she said, for their decision to move the party into her bedroom.
