IRONDALE, AL (WBRC) – The torch that will light the flame for the Alabama Special Olympic Games made its way through Irondale on Thursday morning.
Volunteers with the torch run started at Irondale City Hall and ran 1.3 miles through the city.
The torch will make its way to Gardendale and Birmingham on Thursday afternoon. Friday morning the torch will make its way through Pelham to Montgomery and end in Troy.
The Special Olympic Games opening ceremony will be on Friday night, with the event beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday at Troy University.
