What’s Next For “Irondale On The Move!” ?

Irondale, AL – In early 2014,  the City of Irondale, the Irondale Commercial Development Authority and the Greater Irondale Chamber of Commerce announced a partnership with the Regional Planning Commission of Greater Birmingham to create and implement the city’s first ever community based comprehensive plan.   The comprehensive planned branded Irondale On The Move! was officially launched during a city-wide town hall meeting held on April 16, 2015. The town hall meeting provided an interactive forum for community stakeholders to learn more about the comprehensive planning process and to actively get involved in the visioning process.

During May and June, the Irondale On The Move ! project team held a series of District level community engagement workshops, interviewed local businesses and met with several City of Irondale Department heads.

Click to view the Visioning Phase summary slides here, which includes the Visioning Survey results and a list of major issues and concerns that we heard from residents through the Kickoff Open House in April and the Council District Workshops in late May  and June.

To give you a little more information about Comprehensive Plan, we have created an Irondale on the Move promotional video to help you learn more about the goals of this planning process. Watch the video here on YouTube or go to http://www.irondaleonthemove.com/. View it then share it with every Irondale stakeholder (resident, employee, business owner, etc.) you know!
