This Saturday, September 24, is the 25th anniversary of Irondale’s premiere event: The Whistle Stop Festival.
Did you know the Festival was born from the City of Irondale’s centennial? The events of that first celebration in 1987 actually spread out over several months, including a festival, fireworks, blue grass music, and even vintage costume and beard contests! The first official WSF was held in 1992. (Read more in the City Guide’s history of Irondale.)
Don’t miss this family-fun event! Lots of food, music, crafts (and people-watching)! And by all means, stop by and say hello at the Chamber’s booth near City Hall. The festival is from 10 AM to 7 PM in historic downtown Irondale. Fireworks at 9 PM!
