The Irondale City Council recently approved the purchase of (8) new police patrol cars and (2) administrative vehicles. Councilor John London presented a resolution to purchase the vehicles which was approved unanimously by the Irondale City Council. ” Our police officers do an awesome job and they should have the very best equipment,” said London.
Irondale was recently recognized as the 12th safest city in the state of Alabama in a Movoto study based on data from the FBI Uniform Crime Report. Movoto ranked all cities in Alabama with a population of 10,000 or more residents based on the following criteria:
- Violent Crimes
- Property Crimes
- Total Crimes
According to Irondale Mayor Tommy Joe Alexander, “The new police vehicles will further bolster our police department’s ability to serve our citizens and make Irondale an even safer city to live and visit.”
